Egencia, part of Expedia Group, is transforming the way expenses are managed for corporate travel. They offer a solution to simplify expense reporting for business travelers, utilizing various technologies such as OpenSync. This enables the extraction of credit card data for business trips, which users can subsequently modify and use to create reports effortlessly.
I implemented several new functionalities alongside enhancements in space utilization, organization, and understanding. When users access the Expense screen without any trips to expense, they can utilize a "remind me" option, prompting automatic reminders when their business trips' end dates approach. This functionality is also adjustable within the settings menu.
I revamped the display of transaction details significantly on this interface. Users can now extract data from several cards and modify or label transactions. A frequently requested capability, integrating multiple Trips into one report, is now achievable.
Significantly reduce the time it takes to create expense reports.
Business travelers often face the daunting task of compiling their business expenses on a computer to seek reimbursement. To address this challenge, a team at Egencia devised OpenSync during a hackathon. This innovative solution securely extracts transactions from credit cards. When Egencia clients book their travel dates through the platform, OpenSync retrieves transactions made only within those dates, ensuring privacy for personal credit card usage. Users can selectively include or exclude transactions in the report, and then export it either as a document or to their preferred expensing too
We didn't stop at innovation. User testing refined the interface, focusing on clarity with subtext and visuals, and added features users craved, like reminders and multi-trip reporting. Their mobile-first design prioritized on-the-go expense management, highlighting the power of user-centric design for efficient and user-friendly experiences.
